• They say good things come to those who work hard, like, for example, Gordon Mays, Brand Manager of Mid-West Family Country WRTB (95.3 The Bull)/Rockford, IL, who has been rewarded with a promotion to Director of Programming & Content for the company’s six-station group in Rockford and DeKalb, IL. He will retain his existing Bull Brand Manager duties.
The official announcement of Mays’ sweet upgrade was made in a staff memo from his boss, Mike Patterson, Pres./GM of Mid-West Family Illinois, which reads, “Please help me recognize Gordon Mays for stepping into the role of Dir./Programming and Content for Rockford and DeKalb. Gordon will step up and lead the branding, programming, and expanded content efforts for the six radio brands and their teams in Rockford and DeKalb.
Mays is an Illinois native who notably spent a decade with then-CBS Radio Country WXTU/Philadelphiabefore returning home in April 2017 and joining WRTB to do afternoon drive. He was upped to Brand Manager in Oct. 2019. Mays’ earlier previous include WYSP/Philadelphia, WKQX & WLUP/Chicago and WJBR/Wilmington, DE.
Paterson continued, “Gordon joined us more than five years ago on 95-3 The Bull and has demonstrated leadership and collaboration with a growth mindset during that time.
