NEW LEBANON — The New Lebanon Library, 550 State Route 20, New Lebanon, announces the following programs in September. For information, www.newlebanonlibrary.org or 518-794-8844.
Upcoming Programs
The New Lebanon Book Group meets at 11 a.m. Sept. 4 at the New Lebanon Library unless otherwise noted. Bring a mask, we socially distance. Curious readers, visitors, and drop-ins are always welcome. We follow a no fragrance policy for the safety of some of our members. The book to be discussed is “The Swimmers” by Julie Otsuka. Copies of the book are available by request at local libraries.
The Friends of the New Lebanon Library annual tag sale will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 4. All proceeds benefit the New Lebanon Library.
History Webinar will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 12. One American president hails from Columbia County. While more obscure than many of our early presidents, as a member of the second generation of American politicians, President Van Buren inherited the challenges of interpreting the U.S. Constitution during the antebellum period and was central to the creation of our party system and to the crucial issues of his time, including American slavery. Park Ranger Dawn Olson of the Martin Van Buren National Historic Park will introduce us to this relatively obscure president. This Zoom program is sponsored by the Columbia County Libraries Association. Email director@roejanlibrary.org to register.
Crafternoon Kids at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 13. This month, join us for an old favorite: Decoupage Notebooks. For age 5 and older, all materials provided.
Small Wonders Storytime at 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday. For toddlers up to 35 months of age. Enjoy a briefer Storytime (20-30 minutes) for our youngest patrons and their caregivers, featuring songs, movement activities and age-appropriate stories.
Preschool Storytime at 11 a.m. every Wednesday. For ages 3-6 years. This Storytime is a bit longer for older children (30-45 minutes) and includes more stories, movement activities, and songs, followed by a craft activity.
Make It & Take It: Crafts Meetup for Adults at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15. Join our crafty group this month for an Autumn-themed craft! All materials provided.
Community Film Night at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29. A screening of the documentary film “Seed: The Untold Story.”
Online Concert: Linda Worster at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 9. Stay socially distant and still have fun connecting through great music! Join local singer/songwriter Linda as she brings us music online. Visit the library website the day of the event for login details.
Family Movie Night at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23. A screening of a current movie suitable for the whole family. Visit newlebanonlibrary.org for title.
Tech Talks – Fridays by appointment. Sharon is back by appointment to help those newer to or unfamiliar with computers! The Library has laptops available for use, or bring your own device along. Call 518-794-8844 or email libraryassistant@newlebanonlibrary.org to schedule an appointment time.
