NATIONAL MUSEUM OF INDUSTRIAL HISTORY ANNOUNCES VETERANS DAY PROGRAMMING – The Valley Ledger

BETHLEHEM, PA – The National Museum of Industrial History(NMIH) will honor those who served on Friday, November 11. The day will begin at 10am with a commemoration ceremony hosted by the Steelworkers Veterans Memorial Committee on the Museum’s plaza. The commemoration ceremony will include a performance by the Broughal Middle School Band as well as remarks from various distinguished guests. Special keynote speakers will be Commander Sandra D. Thomas and Chief Warrant Officer Andrew T. Boyer of the U.S. Navy Reserve.
Veterans and their families receive free admission to the museum from 10am to 5pm. Visitors will have a chance to see a circa 1940s Service Banner from Bethlehem Steel Brass Foundry Welfare Room from the Museum’s collection on display in the NMIH lobby.
“We are privileged to have the Steelworkers Veterans Memorial as a feature of the Museum’s Plaza and honored to have the Steelworkers Veterans Memorial Committee host this important commemoration ceremony each year,” said NMIH President & CEO Kara Mohsinger. “Thanks to our generous sponsors Hank and Joanne Barnette and Kaplan’s Awning, we are able to welcome veterans and their families free of charge as a way to thank them for their service.”
