Press release from the Livingston Public Library:
July 29, 2022
We had some wonderful virtual and in-person adult programs take place during the month of July. Here is a quick recap of what happened at the Library this month!
It’s not summer without a trip to the shore! In celebration of summer, we enjoyed listening to the in-person lecture “Shore to Please: Highlights of the Jersey Shore.”
Those looking to get crafty also enjoyed our drop-in Color Your Stress Away and Crafternoon crafting groups. We also enjoyed the instructor-led craft Adult Paint Night: Create an Oceanscape Painting and Adult Art Workshop: Ocean Treasures Resin Art Project.
We enjoyed live music in the Library’s program room during our Music Matters Concert, James Austin Jr’s Jazz Piano Tribute to Stevie Wonder.
Those looking to enjoy an afternoon film joined us in the Library’s program room for our weekly Weekends with the Oscars. It was wonderful to enjoy an Oscar nominated film with friends while beating the summer afternoon heat!
We wouldn’t be a library without books! Readers came together to discuss select monthly titles at our Let’s Talk About Books, Cookbook Club, Crime Time, and Bookish Vibes book groups!
Adult Summer Reading continued throughout July and ended on August 1st. Adults also were able to participate in our month long Livi Cares Adult Volunteer Club where adults wrote letters to be sent to Seniors in need of a smile through the organization Letters Against Isolation.
Be sure to visit our events calendarto see what fun and engaging events we have planned for August.
See you next month!
-Jessica, Head of Adult Services & Acquisitions
