International Programmer's Day: Celebrating the champions who run the show in the Tech World – CXOToday.com

13th September is celebrated as International Programmer’s Day to pay tribute to all those programmers who, with their programming skills have made living in the 21st century easy. Technology is at the core of everything we do, and the pandemic has just accelerated the speed of digitalization. Who would have thought hybrid work models and taking online classes, would be a reality? Technology has disrupted every aspect of our lives and all the credit goes to those programming wizards who relentlessly spend their time writing code, using the language of Python, JAVA, GoLang, etc. Today, to celebrate and honour their immense contribution to the world of technology, we have a list of technology leaders who are here to share some endearing admiration for all the software developers of the country.

“The evolving technology landscape and a vast talent pool of qualified professionals have made India a global hub for the developer community. They experiment, challenge, and push the boundaries of technology further and faster, bringing cutting edge innovations – not only for India, but also for global markets.
Neo4j too has the largest developer community in India. They are the first ones who try our offerings, give us feedback, and help us evangelize use cases of our products. As leaders of the larger programming ecosystem, we work towards nurturing this talent by providing meaningful opportunities for growth and a platform where they can demonstrate their capabilities.
On World Programmer’s Day, I would like to thank all programmers and developers who drive innovation. Your constant endeavour to expand the scope technology helps make everyone’s lives easier – one innovation at a time.” Rahul Tenglikar, Regional Director, Neo4j

“India currently has the third largest community of developers, and is projected to touch 10 million by 2023. These past few years, we’ve witnessed a tectonic shift in digital adoption across all walks of life, and this has opened up a lot of opportunities for programmers. More organizations, both public and private, are increasingly investing in and adopting newer technologies to keep up with the fast-evolving business landscape and cater to customer needs. This digital transformation journey companies find themselves on, has been made successful by agile and efficient programmers. Similarly, for us, the talented developers at CleverTap have to be credited with the fast growth and innovation we have seen over the years. As the government and India Inc. continues to emphasize on tech-driven growth, the Indian developer community is all geared up to continue to innovate and accelerate the country’s progress.” Anand Jain, Co-Founder & Chief Product Officer, CleverTap.

The Indian financial services industry is growing at a rapid pace. This growth has largely been due to the rapid adoption of technologies like AI, ML, Data Analytics, Cloud, RPA, and Blockchain which has helped them provide hyper-personalized, data-led, omni-channel services and experiences to their customers. Data security is of paramount importance in the industry, which is made possible by technology and through excellent coding by skilled and experienced programmers. The technologies that are at the forefront are majorly pivoting around futuristic services. To be able to cater to customer expectations, there’s huge demand for skilled and sophisticated Database Administrators, Data scientists, Cloud Architects, and so on. These programmers are the pioneers who will usher in the future.
A good programmer especially a full stack programmer understands algorithms and architectures intuitively. He / She can build self-consistent large systems with little supervision, invent new algorithms, refactor live systems without breaking them. While full stack programming still enjoys significant spotlight, low-code and no-code programming platforms are gaining traction across the software development ecosystem. Low code and no-code platforms have made writing complex algorithms easier. With API and GraphQL interfaces developers can code services in any preferable computer language while still co-existing within the ecosystem. Low code and no code programming is opening up multiple avenues for people with both tech and non tech backgrounds to explore and be part of the technological revolution we find ourselves in the midst of.
Apart from the technical skills, a programmer in today’s world can communicate effectively and cogently with non-technical support teams on technical and non-technical issues. The programmer also works towards imparting those skills and knowledge to others and helps upskill others in the team. The demand for highly experienced computer programmers with in-depth knowledge of MySQL, SQL, database queries, theory, and design, network understanding, and knowledge of operating systems like Linux, Unix, or Windows is high. Any company catering to the BFSI industry will welcome the right candidate for such skills and experience with open arms. This Programmer’s Day let us recognize the role they play in helping improve our day to day lives with technology and appreciate the trove of opportunities that have opened for them to do this successfully.Uday Choudhari, Senior Director-Technology, Synechron

“On this Developers’ Day, we would like to recognize the power of low-code automation. Low-code automation is at the forefront of software development today because it can help organizations function more strategically and maximize the capabilities of their workforce. A democratic, effective, and automated future of work is being ushered in by low-code platforms. The use of low-code technologies boosts corporate output and makes software development accessible to people with little to no technical knowledge about software development. Low-code automation also lowers the technical barrier of entry for lines of businesses, enabling them to get more involved in their digital transformation and business innovation. This in turn allows businesses to not outsource software development and effectively author their own workflows based on outcomes identified and processes they have in place. It further provides an opportunity for IT teams to focus on more nuanced and technical tasks while offering the larger workforce a chance to be part of the overall innovation journey of a company and work alongside product teams. The automated enterprise is an empowered one, and low code is the key to unlocking it.
The prowess of every coder in the country is commendable and is driving the phenomenal growth of India’s IT sector. In India, UiPath is committed to fostering young and bright talent while providing the right resources for upskilling and reskilling. We have a strong developer community that is growing and are confident that India is on the path to becoming the global hub for software development and are humbled to be a part of this journey.“ – Jared Danaraj Vice President, Sales and Solutions Engineering, Asia Pacific, and Japan, UiPath

“In the past couple of years, the need for customised solutions is being realised increasingly, not just by businesses but also by institutes across sectors-from education to government and the social sector. Low-code platforms like Zoho Creator have enabled even non–professional developers to be able to build apps using its drag-and-drop interface, working along with IT teams. We believe that the demand for developers, especially in India, will continue to grow and organisations will turn to citizen developers to support their needs. Our aim at Zoho has been to empower everyone to easily build powerful solutions. We are celebrating developers on the occasion of International Programmers’ Day by giving 256 Zoho Creator (Zoho’s flagship Low-code platform) subscriptions, which will be valid for one year, for free. (This link can be used for availing the subscription – ‌zoho.to/256)” – Bharath Kumar B, Head of Marketing and Customer Experience for Zoho Creator
