Backstage News On Status Of Charlotte's Return To WWE Programming – TheSportster

Charlotte is expected back in WWE sooner than later. Is it possible she’s the open-challenge opponent for Ronda Rousey?
As per Randall Ortman of Cageside Seats, Charlotte Flair's return to WWE programming could be around the corner. The exact description used was that her return is "expected much sooner rather than later", but with Ronda Rousey issuing an open challenge on Friday's SmackDown, there is some speculation Charlotte could make an appearance.
Flair has been away from WWE TV since WrestleMania Backlash in May. There's been a lot of talk about when she might return, but to date, she's not reappeared in WWE since losing her SmackDown Women's Championship to Rousey at the pay-per-view. It would make sense she might take issue with the loss and the fans would pop huge if Charlotte appeared on the show as it airs on FS1 this week.
Her showing up on Friday is just a theory. Flair could be coming back to WWE later than Friday and evidence suggest this is more likely a scenario that takes place. Andrade El Idolo has been sharing images of him and his wife (Charlotte) on what appears to be a vacation. If that's the case and the pictures are recent, it's unlikely she'll make it to St. Louis in time. In fact, it's not a given that she returns to SmackDown at all.
The Queen has been missed since she left WWE. It is undebatable that she is one of the division's top stars and the roster could sorely use her marquee status to elevate the rest of the women up a notch. The question is, what will WWE want her doing in storylines?
Triple H is not likely to put her on television without a plan and it has been said that Charlotte wants to know what the company has creatively for her. Until that plan is in place, it's not likely she makes an appearance. and Co. will not bring her back to our screens without having something in mind for her.
