In support of Mayor Andre Dickens’ One Safe City initiative, this fall the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Atlanta Police Department are launching a series of family-friendly programs titled “Popsicles in the Park” and “Movies in the Park” to bring the community together.
“Popsicles in the Park” is a monthly event hosted in collaboration with the Atlanta Police Department. The event is open to the public and provides an opportunity for one-on-one interaction with police and park staff while enjoying delicious treats.
In addition, the “Movies in the Park” weekly series will offer a fun way for families and friends to gather and enjoy family-friendly movies under the stars at City of Atlanta parks.
“City of Atlanta parks and recreation spaces are beloved spaces for community members, friends, and families of all generations to gather, create memories and find renewal,” DPR Commissioner Justin Cutler said. “This fall, we’re launching a series of family-friendly events to engage the community and create circles in safe spaces around the city. We encourage everyone to join us at these events across the city.”
Both events offer residents and visitors alike the opportunity to unwind, connect and enjoy the beauty of the City’s parks. For the full list of events visit, https://www.atlantaga.gov/government/departments/parks-recreation.
